Meet Charlotte
Copper
**************************************************************************************
GRP: Today I have the pleasure of speaking with Charlotte
Copper
So
first I want to say to Ms. Copper, thank you for taking the time to speak to me
today.
Thank you so much for having me here!
GRP: Where do you draw your inspiration for
writing?
Honestly…everywhere. I carry a little notebook with me
all the time, just in case.
My first book
started with me daydreaming on my drive to work about who I would be if I was
on the show Stargate Atlantis (and how I’d end up with Colonel Sheppard – wink,
wink!). The story took on a life of its
own, and you would never recognize the story for that now if you read it.
Sometimes my daughter will be telling me a story about
a friend, and she’ll say “Trenton said blah, blah, blah” and I’ll say “Ohhhhhh,
Trenton, I like that name!” and out comes the little notebook.
GRP: How do you create your characters?
I don’t create my characters, they develop on their own
and then stand up and say “hey, over here!”.
Sometimes I’ll help them a little with their backstory, but most of the
time, they already know what it is.
GRP: Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Well, I don’t drink coffee, tea or alcohol. It’s not a health or moral thing, I just
don’t like the taste. Once a year, however, at Christmas my friends and I go to
this restaurant that has these amazing frozen, fruity, alcohol drinks called
Belinis. I end up getting brain-freezes because
I drink them like pop. (Probably a good thing I don’t drink alcohol the rest of
the year.)
GRP: How many hours in a day do you spend writing?
Definitely not enough.
My life is too busy to have structured time. I wish I had it, but I’m forced to carve out
an hour or two here and there to do my writing. I can honestly say I haven’t
even looked at my writing in the last month, which is sad.
GRP: Do you read in your spare time? and if so
what is your favorite type of book to read?
I read a lot of paranormal and young adult, but I
recently took a break from that and read a horror book called Afraid by Jack Kilborn. It was awesome.
GRP: What did you do in a your past life
I think it must have been something to do with cooking,
because I hate to cook now. Like maybe I
did too much of it in my former life. My
oven broke two years ago, and I haven’t replaced it yet. I mean, I do cook –
the stove top still works, I have a small toaster oven, and I bbq a lot – but
fancy cooking, forget it!
GRP: Is
there anything else you want your readers to know about you?
My first book, Silver
Blade, released July 24th.
Silver Blade is the story of
Angela Knight, an attractive black jack dealer, and Oscar McAvoy, a demon
hunter whom she literally picks up at the side of the road. It’s a story about
two people who feel unworthy of love, but who find out fate has a plan of its
own.
Silver
Blade is a paranormal-romance novella, available
electronically through The Wild Rose Press and Amazon.

Thank you
And thank you again for having me!

I just want to say "Thank you" again for having me!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte
Hey Charlotte from another TRW gal. I have one of those notebooks, too, just bursting with fresh ideas. It's so neat the way our minds start with a simple thought and then blossom into a whole story.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter just rolls her eyes when I pull out my notebook. "Don't you dare," she'll say, and I just smile in return.
DeleteThanks for stopping by Joan.
I think I was a farmer's wife in one of my last lives, I love farms. Unfortunately, I live in the city.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds right up my alley!
Hi Mary, too bad we can't submit a request for what we want to be in our next life. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
